Weddings and Blessings

Deciding to get married in Church is a significant step to take.
It means recognising that God has a part to play in your relationship and making the choice of honouring that.
The marriage service is not just a legal event but also an act of worship which the couple can share in planning.
It includes the exchange of vows and promises, prayers, readings, and some words from a minister as a couple start their life together.
Couples who have already had their partnership recognised in a civil ceremony may wish to receive a blessing on their relationship. This can involve promises, prayers, readings and exchange of rings, planned with the minister as for a marriage service, but a blessing ceremony does not have any legal status.
